Work with other Gallery Crawl visitors to complete a replica of one of Maxo Vanka's murals, painted by the immigrant artist in St. Nicholas Croatian Church in Millvale in 1937 and 1941.
This "Art Action" is open to all ages and skill levels. Everyone can be an artist with this collaborative creative activity presented by The Society to Preserve the Millvale Murals of Maxo Vanka (SPMMMV). Easy-to-follow instructions and materials will give individuals or groups the ability to create their choice of a 4.5" x 4.5" hand-drawn and colored square. Each Grid Mural is comprised of 64 squares. The completed squares will be pinned in their assigned space on a 4' x 6' grid to complete the image.
SPMMMV will capture the "art action" of individual participants, post progress updates on social media (#SaveMaxoVanka) during the Gallery Crawl, and will feature the completed image on its Facebook page and website. Every contributor to the Grid Mural will receive a thank you gift. SPMMMV will also share information about the Murals and the work to preserve them.
